We are doing inter-department moves, and all the phones are giving "URL call is disabled" errors.  We have regular cisco switches, and our VOIP service is hosted by our IP.  We started having this problem a few months ago, but it was always remedied by restarting the offending switch.

1) The Phone will grab an IP address, and powers on via POE.  It gives the URL call is disabled error.

2) It passes through internet/network to the computer fine, and the computer it passes onto works without problem.

3)  The phones continue to work in their original port/switch locations.

The "resetting the switch" fix isn't working anymore.

Our VOIP provider says the problem is on our end, but that seems like a cop out (and they are a smaller company).

Appreciate any help.

Thanks,

adam in Los Angeles

Hello adamPMG,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used SIP or UC Software version as issues experienced may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes.

The above is also stated in the "Read First: Welcome to the Polycom VoIP Forum"

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP UC Software Version or the BootROM Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

HelloAdam,

Apart from that you are using a no longer supported software I suggest this.
