We have a Siemens OpenOffice MX phone switch with a couple of SoundStation IP5000 conference speakerphones. Until now, they have all worked great.  Recently, we enabled long distance codes on the provider side for projects and individuals.  These codes must be entered in after a long distance number is dialed. There was no configuration done on our side, rather these were all setup on the provider (Verizon's) side.

For example, on a Siemens handset, if we dial 9-1-202-555-1234, after the number is completed, we hear a long tone and then the three digit long distance code must be entered.  On the Polycom speaker phone, I am able to dial the number (9-1-202-555-1234) but it just rings, there is no long tone from the provider side. It will just ring and eventually fail.  There are no issues dialing local numbers and extensions; and the speakerphone can receive calls from other extensions, local, and long distance numbers.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.   Thanks.

Hello Venture,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

A good thing we always advise is to check the FAQ => here <=

Your issue sounds like:

Oct 7, 2011 Question: Phone unable to Dial a number when Off Hook or on 2nd Call in a Conference

ResolutionPlease check => here <=

This covers:

[0-1][2-9]xxxxxxxxx: Long Distance rule with prefix 0 or 1 and then allowing Digits from => 9 with an additional 9 Digits allowing a 11 Digit Number to be dialed

You are attempting to dial a 12 Digit Number and usually from Factory this amount of digits is not covered by the default digitmap.

Please liaise with your Polycom Reseller in case you require further support.

Best Regards

Steffen Baier
