We recently converted one of our office to Polycom IP handsets off an Interactive Intelligence system.  One of our tech support groups uses instant messaging to transfer files to the person they are assisting.  Since implementing the new IP based system, they are unable to do this.  We can unplug their phones and plug their desktop into the ethernet jack bypassing the phones and the file transfers work.  I have been searching high and low for someone who has experienced this.  What is different about the way this IM traffic is passed through the Polycom?  Anyone have any ideas?

Hello NannyBelle,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Without knowing the Software Version of the Phones nobody would be able to cross check against the Software Release Notes to check if this is a known issue that has been addressed in a later release.

Usually the Phone's built in switches should just forward any traffic but without knowing the configuration (VLAN?) nobody would be able to remotely diagnose this.

As it seems to be a new Installation you should work with your Polycom Installer to get this logged with Polycom Support.

Best Regards
