Hi,

we have a unified folder for all the polycom devices.

in particular, IP7000 is running 3.2.3 firmware at the moment.

there is a project to upgrade couple IP7000s to 4.0 above to support the integradtion of HDX7000

I found that it requires updater 3111-40000-001.bootrom.ld to point the unit to grab the new firmware (no need to upgrade from 4.01 to 4.0.3 for e.g)

however, we don't want to upgrade all IP7000 to the latest firmware.

is there a way to tell the IP7000 which bootrom.ld to load, just like modifng the MAC.cfg to tell the phone which sip.ld to load in a SPECIFIC sub-folder??

Hi AmcomIPTel,

to my knowledge you can only specify the sip.ld in the <mac>.cfg file.

You can on the other hand specify a new file within the config_file="" sections.

Lets say you call this redirect.cfg

As you are running SIP 3.2.x you also need a sip.cfg and phone1.cfg so it should look like this:

config_file="redirect.cfg,sip.cfg,phone1.cfg"

 Within the redirect.cfg you would then utilize the device.set option and specify a new user on your FTP that points towards the 4.x.x Software. You can also include the username and password.

I am nowhere near my own pc so you would need to check the admin guide for the parameters.

The phone would on a boot load that new config, change his provisioning server details to the new user and then download the new updater/upgrader and afterwards sip.ld and run the new UCS software.

Best Regards
