Hello Polycom Users,

My company is planning on moving our fleet of legacy products to bootRoms 4.0 and above to take advantage of split firmware files.

The majority of these phones have bootrom 3.2.3 and firmware version 2.1.2. According to the Polycom documentation the bootrom upgrade sound pretty easy to do, just replace the current bootrom.ld with the concatenated bootrom.ld for bootrom 4.0, then add the splitfiles.bootrom.ld.

Our major concern is wiping out any provisioning. Has anyone experienced a bootrom upgrade from any legacy model that wiped out the provision in the Server Type & Server Address field?

Thank you,

Brion

Hello Brion,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

As long as you keep the configuration files in the same directory the phone would load any configuration if the file system would have to be formatted.

Simply test this in an isolated Network with a few handsets.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards
