Hello Sree,

can I kindly ask you the following:

  • Do not configure anything else on the phone apart from loading the certificate

Looking at the log snippet you provided you or whoever setup these phones on purpose (maybe not understanding what they are doing) for example disabled feature.EWSAutodiscover.enabled="0".

This parameter is by LYNC Base Profile factory default enabled aka ="1".

In addition there are multiple other parameters which you or whoever setup these phones on purpose (maybe not understanding what they are doing) disabled.

The Corporate Directory feature is for a local LDAP as explained => here <=

If no LDAP credentials are configured then this will not work.

The Corporate Directory is not the LYNC ABS.

As a LYNC Base Profile factory default the feature.lync.abs.enabled is enabled.

Again I can only repeat myself:

  • Factory reset the Phone
  • Delete all local overwrite files aka <mac>-phone.cfg and <mac>-weg.cfg
  • Import the Root Certificate Configuration file only containing one valid certificate
  • Sign into the Phone with the User Credentials

You can then test the ABS functionality and then start locally troubleshooting as explained in my last post above.

The Factory default + your Certificate is all you need to get LYNC working.

Everything else you or whoever setup these phones (maybe not understanding what they are doing) added or disabled or re-configured will hinder a successful setup.

The above basic configuration aka Factory Default in LYNC Base Profile + your local certificate will work.

If this does not work your customer setup is incorrectly configured and either they fix it or:

  • Open a support Ticket with Microsoft (will not be free as incorrectly setup infrastructure)
    or
  • Purchase the Service of a third party LYNC Specialist or Polycom Global Services

The above is not a support issue as the phone in question is incorrectly configured.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Hi Steffen,

I have disabled EWS auto discovery as it was giving some error.

But now i have done the factory reset , loaded the certificate, provided the time server and logged in ..

It started displaying the contacts. Thanks for that. Sorry for too much noise.

Regards,

Sree.

Hello Sree,

as written above your latest reply simply confirms again that your customers environment is setup incorrectly as the Exchange Auto Discovery will work if this is setup as per Microsoft specifications.

You can save yourself, the Customer , other Community members and our Support Infrastructure a load of time and disappointment if the prerequisites are setup correctly.

This avoids your end customers experience with LYNC to end in disappointment but requires all involved personal to know what they are doing.

If the above cannot be guaranteed I have already outlined on multiple occasions what the next requirement is aka purchase a service offering of a professional organisation to do this.

Best Regards
