I need help to try connecting the VVX 600 with a Lync 2013 Edge (from Internet). I can use this device in my LAN using DHCP options and connecting to a Lync 2013 Front End Pool (using PIN or samaccountname and password). I have checked the Lync 2013 Edge and it works with all pc Lync clients and all mobile APPS (iPhone and Android) from Internet.

Does VVX600 support connections to Lync 2013 edge ?

Thanks

Hello Paolo,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

This is most likely either caused by the lack of a certificate or missing DNS entries.

I would suggest you start by looking at your logs and run a wireshark trace in parallel.

Please be aware of the following when utilizing UCS 4.1.0 or later:

The use of Polycom UC Software versions 4.1.X (“Software”) requires the purchase of a separate Software license for every device that will use the Software in a Lync environment. You may not install, access, or use the Software in a Lync environment on more devices than are listed on your license until additional licenses have been purchased and authorized by Polycom. These licenses should be purchased from the same company from which you purchased the devices. You may operate devices against a Lync server for trial purposes for up to 30 days without purchasing a license. Use of the Software is subject to the terms and conditions of the End User License Agreement.

Polycom reserves the right to audit your deployment to verify that you have sufficient licenses to match the number of devices being used.

Information in regards of License Part Numbers can be found => here <=

Paolo,

We use the VVX500 remotely to Lync 2013 through an edge server without issue.

It looks like our VVX500 requires at least two DNS entries pointing to our edge server.

In DNS we have a CNAME for sip.ourlync.com created that points to our edge server and we also have a SRV record for _sip._tls.ourlync.com with the following as the record content: 0 0 443 sip.ourlync.com.

Of course, replace sip.ourlync.com with your domain.

Hello,

we are testing VVX 500 and 600 Phones, have a valid functional Lync infrastructure with Mobile, IM and Voice Conferencing all in place and working.. I have read that VVX 500/600 can use our Edge Server for a user to plug in the phone and sign on via Edge similar to a Mobile Client... can someone provide me with a doc on how to setup a VVX phone externally to connect to Lync 2013 Edge.. or does it utilize my exsitsing edge server dns settings that Mobiles use and just majically sign in?

Any special setup on the phone before we send it out?

Thanks in advance..

Just have the user sign in with their Lync credentials. If you have auto discover configured properly in your external DNS, it will work like any other Lync client.
