Using the 00000000.cfg file

Hi.  I'm new to Polycom phones.  I don't understand the use of the 00000000.cfg file.  I have read the docs and some posts on it.  My issue is the following.,  I want to push multicast paging to the phones.  My PBX will create mac.config files but will not include the multicast parameters.  I am hoping that I can use a common file that all the phones can download that has all the settings I can't include in the MAC cfg.  Its not clear to me how to do it from the docs.  It looks like I can use the site.cfg file but I'm not sure or how to put it all together.  Thanks in advance.

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used SIP or UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

Also the Phone Model is of importance.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Must Read First" and is the absolute minimum requirement every new post should include.

I read this post and its still not clear to me.  Will the phones download the 000000000.cfg filke then download the mac.cfg file?  I am looking for a way to get all the parameters my system wont put in the mac config into another file that will also be downloaded.

You have not answered any of my questions.

In addition the post clearly states:

I have now added more information to the above mentioned FAQ post so it makes this even clearer.

You can only load configuration parameters in a file via the Master Config File aka 00000000000.cfg / <MAC>.cfg

If your yet unknown system does not contain the relevant parameter you need to manually create an XML conform configuration file and then load it via the 00000000000.cfg / <MAC>.cfg
