Hi

I would like to know the configuration steps in connecting a H323 enabled Polycom VVx1500D to a Cisco UC540.  I would like to know the steps in

a) creating the H323 endpoint on the UC540

b) Allowing Calls from SCCP to H323 phones on the UC540

c) I think that I would need to configure the Gatekeeper and Gateway as the UC540 but would the Provisioning Server also be the UC540 and would this include creating the configuration files needed by the Polycom and then Uploading to the UC540.  Is this correct?

I have managed to get the Endpoint connected as a SIP service but I am very lost on the H323 side of things.

Thanks for helping me out with this issue.

Hello bm1982,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The VVX1500D is not officially supported on any Cisco Platform as far as I am aware.

The VVX1500C is the Cisco Version and has been interoperability tested.

The VVX1500D may work as a 3rd Party SIP Device (basic) and would need the the 3rd Party SIP Device (Advanced) if Video Calls via SIP would need to be enabled.

The VVX1500D can also work as a H323 device.

The H323 functionality needs to be activated via a configuration from a Provisioning Server or via the Web Interface.

As a standard this would be disabled.

A Gatekeeper can be automatically discovered if used in a compatible environment.

Within the Lines Menu via the Web Interface or configuration from a Provisioning Server the H323 Details can be added.

As mentioned I am unsure about the official Support as this is not a supported Platform so you may want to post in a Forum covering the Cisco community.

Best Regards
