Can someone please help with this. I am trying to program the side car speed dials through either the web utility or some other method that will make this job easier other than trying to manually enter each one on the phone. Can anyone help with this. Comcast is our provider and they have no clue. Thank you for your help.

Hello Hvacrepairman,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Traditionally Polycom has always utilized our partners platform to “provision” the phones.

This includes the phones ability to load a directory file.

In order, for example, to only assign speed dials to the expansion module the speed dials would need to be defined first and then the Keys re-assigned.

The community's VoIP FAQ contains these post's here:

Jan 6, 2012 Question: How can I create a local directory or what is the 000000000000-directory.xml used for?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

and

Jan 12, 2012 Question: Can I change / re-assign the appearance of  Line, BLF, Speed Dial and Presence Keys?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Thank you for that information.  If I create a new directory XML file how can I load it on the phone from the internal network without going through the vendor.   The vendor apparently does not support this which makes no sense at all.   Having to enter each speed dial one by one on each phone will take alot of time.   Any help to come up with a work around would be helpful.

Thank you again

Hello hvacrepairman,

I can only advise you to make Comcast aware of this post and that they should speak to their Polycom contact.

You most likely require to setup a local FTP server to provision the phone so it can load the Speed Dials.
