I'm aware of how to upload custom ringtones to the VVX 500 via the web interface and of the directions found on these forums. However, I was unclear on if rebooting the phones caused it to lose those custom ringtones if they were uploaded trhough the web GUI.

Hello TheNewUser,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The Phone itself only holds the file imported via the Web Interface until it is rebooted.

If the Phone can connect to a provisioning server to upload the file added via the Web Interface it will reload it on a reboot.

If this is not the case a URL that the phone can reach must be used so the phone can download this file on each subsequent reboot.

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Oct 25, 2011 Question: How can I change my Ringtone or Ring in a special manner for a certain incoming call?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

The above has more details on ring tones.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
