Just purchsed a few vvx 500 and setting up the VOIP system. I can not seem to get the BLF monitoring feature working.

They lines gets 'registered' but they don't change status depending on what the other user is doing.

My hosting providor mVoice and the software they use does not support version 4 firmware.

Verion 3 firmware on the older phone (IP670) works fine, but doesn't work when they use version 4 firmware.

At least got to the bottom of it.

Hello ,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The community's VoIP FAQ contains a post describing the blf functionality.

A wire shark trace should show a Subscribe and Notify to/from the sip server.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

I have added the other users as BLF through the webconfig of the phone, and they come up registering fine. As seen in below picture

I am trying it to show the status / updates like below

Obviously I am missing something on a config file some where, but I dont know where to start.

You can export your configuration and compare your settings. In addition, as already advised, get a wire shark trace via a spanned port. It may be simply a limitation on the server end.

If support is required your Polycom reseller and/or Polycom support should be consulted.

using a hosted solution for our VOIP, that only 'support' the IP models and not the VVX ones.

from packet monitoring server side I get this

203.166.103.242 -> 165.228.80.231 SIP/XML Request: NOTIFY sip:101161@192.168.1.33:5064
165.228.80.231 -> 203.166.103.242 SIP Status: 400 Bad Request

As we are using a hosted solution I think the problem is trying to send the local IP of the phone 192.168.1.33, when they should be sip02.xxxx.xxx.xx (or one of the other IP's but I very much doubt the local IP should be showing there)?

Found that Nat setting in the phone, setup port foward at the router still not working 😞

There is no difference between older or newer versions. In your older version you may subscribe to an attendant url rather than individual entries.

Please work with your Polycom reseller and/or Polycom support.

I got it working by using the 'buddies' option, I think I set it up using the enchanced features, which the server didn't support.

Any how working now as I liked.
