We're currently working with a vendor who is providing a demo hosted VoIP solution to us and having a hard time getting an answer about a question we have. They are using VVX 500 phones (fw 4.0.4E) and we have all Cisco networking hardware using 802.1x to authenticate devices plugging in. We're trying to get confirmation that these Polycom phones do or do not support the 'CDP Link-down notification' feature so that .1x sessions will be purged when a machine unplugs from the data port.. Thanks everyone!!

Hello thejman85,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The UCS Admin Guide list's this feature in the <hostmovedetect/> section:

sec.hostmovedetect.cdp.enabled

If set to 1, the phone software will unconditionally send a CDP packet (to the authenticator switch port) to indicate a host has been connected or disconnected to its secondary (PC) port.

It is disabled by standard.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards
