When my VVX500 in Lync base profile, there are six softkeys:
New Call, Forward, DND, My Status, Contacts, Sign Out
Are those default keys? Can you remove some of them or add my own key?
Also, is there a way to set the phones to use Lync base profile on a provisioning server? Thanks.

Hello Shawn,
when you download the Software you have to agree to the following:
1) The use of Polycom UC Software versions 4.1.X (“Software”) requires the purchase of a separate Software license for every device that will use the Software in a Lync environment. You may not install, access, or use the Software in a Lync environment on more devices than are listed on your license until additional licenses have been purchased and authorized by Polycom. These licenses should be purchased from the same company from which you purchased the devices. You may operate devices against a Lync server for trial purposes for up to 30 days without purchasing a license. Use of the Software is subject to the terms and conditions of the End User License Agreement. Polycom reserves the right to audit your deployment to verify that you have sufficient licenses to match the number of devices being used.

Hello Shawn,
the parameter to set the Base Profile would be:
<device device.set="1" device.baseProfile.set="1" device.baseProfile="Lync"/>
The rest is configured using DHCP option 43 like our CX phones series.
You can utilize the web Interface to remove the keys via Utilities > Soft Key Configuration (after enabling enhanced feature keys) but my quick internal test was not as satisfying as I hoped.
I would suggest if you require help with this to raise a support Ticket via your Polycom reseller.
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Thanks Steffen!! When in Lync profile, the phone can pick up a parked call but can't put a call on parkking lot. Do you know if this will be fixed on the next software release? Right now, my phone is running 4.1.2.

Hello Bigfish,
the official LYNC userguide => here <= does not show this as a supported feature:
• Answer, place, and end calls
• Hold and resume calls
• Transfer calls
• Set up conference calls
• Forward incoming calls
• Access voicemail
• Set your presence status
• Manage your Lync contacts
• Send and receive instant messages
Please also ensure that you will need to purchase a license after evaluating UCS 4.1.x for more than 30 days.
Best Regards
