I have a VVX 500 and a Plantronics 720 USB headset. When plugged in to the USB port on the phone it successfully connects. I can make a call and the other person can hear me, however there is no audio in the headset speakers, just cracking.

Has this been experienced with another headsets and is there anyway of getting it to work?

FYI - the headset works fine plugged into a PC via USB and works fine connected via Bluetooth to my phone.

Thanks,

Ross

Hello Ross,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The community's VoIP => FAQ <= contains this post here:

Oct 19, 2011 Question: What type of Headset's and cables are compatible with my Phone?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

The linked PDF file does not list the used headset as a compatible USB headset.

You can utilize it with a Plantronics APP-5 cable instead but simply plugging the USB lead into the back of the VVX does not support this usage.

I would suggest you contact your Plantronics support team so they can advise you.

Hi,

Yes I had seen the (very small) supported USB list. I was just wondering if there was any trick to get it working. The fact the phone recognised it as a digital headset and the microphone was working made me think there may be a way.

Thanks,

Ross
