Hello,

I'm currently deploying some VVX 500 devices, but am unable to get them to recoginse any USB devices that are plugged in.

Using version: 5.4.2.2834

I have the following set:

 <feature feature.usbTop.power.enabled="1"/>
 <feature feature.usbRear.power.enabled="1"/>

But when plugging in headsets or other USB devices, I don't get any recognition from the phone.

When searching the logs, I find the following:

000028.392|usb  |4|00|soUsbInit: USB features are disabled

Can someone please advise if there is another line I need to add to config file to enable USB features?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Frosty_NZ,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It would help us if you tell us what are you trying to do with the USB Stick.

The FAQ contains for example a section about USB recording if that is what you are trying to archive.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

I'm attempting to use a USB digital headset with the device. I've noticed on other devices, that the phone will show a message on the screen when a USB headset is plugged in, but these devices are not doing it. I can't find anything in my config files relating to disabling USB functions. I'm also not able to use a USB drive for any functions either.

I realise there are only a select few supported headest for the VVX500, but it appears that the USB functions are disabled completely.

Thank you.

Hello Frosty_NZ,

from factory the USB function would not be disabled but not knowing if you use some kind of service provider who may have changed a setting I am unable to comment on this.

Logs or a backup configuration may be helpful but would need to be looked at by Polycom support so please raise this via your Polycom reseller.

If the reseller is some Internet discounter and is unable or unwilling to do this please provide me with a MAC address of one of the phones and I look this up.
