Hallo,

I have a question to the VVX phones.

If I wont to configure a background image that doesn’t work.

That’s the Code:

<bg>
<bg.color bg.color.selection="2,1" >
<bg.color.bm bg.color.bm.1.em.name=""
bg.color.bm.1.name="LogoOnly.bmp">
</bg.color.bm>
</bg.color>
</bg>

But if I configure the image manual over the GUI it works...

I tried it with .bmp .jpg and .jpeg but nothing works.

the diagnostic is:

000019.894|app1 |4|00|Background initialization failed: Selected element empty.

Hello Schindzielorz,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Feb 2, 2012 Question: How can I change the factory provide screen background JPG's?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

The above post explains that the relevant file needs to be on the provisioning server so the phone can load it on a reboot. Did you set this up ?

Thank you for your answer but yes I put the relevant file on the provisioning server.

Hello Schindzielorz

you specified the parameter twice, once empty and once with the name of the file. We read parameters from left to right so the 2nd is ignored.

bg.color.bm.1.em.name=""
bg.color.bm.1.name="LogoOnly.bmp"

 If you mean this. The first parameter is for the extension module (em) and the second one is for the phone.

But I tried it without bg.color.bm.1.em.name="" and it doesn’t work.

         <bg.color bg.color.selection="2,1" >
                  <bg.color.bm bg.color.bm.1.name="OnlyLogo600.bmp" >
                  </bg.color.bm>
         </bg.color>
</bg>

Hello Schindzielorz

you are correct and I need to get my eyes checked.

What software version is this happening on?

It’s no problem ;).

It saved from all devices a backup from the configuration and from the user information on the FTP-Server. I configured all the time on the devices and it saves a lot of configurations, also without image.

If the phone rebooted it took an old configuration and the picture does not load.

Question:

How can I prevent, that the phone saves a configuration?

HP Recommended

Hello Schindzielorz,

You cannot prevent this. Even if you would set the override files to go to an not existing location the phone keeps it in memory what was set.
