Hello,

I'm trying to configure some BLF on a new expansion module from VVX 400 phone via web.

The phone is running the last firmware and working fine for everything else.

I am not able to find any place on the web configuration to configure the expansion module and their BLF. The only thing that I find find from the Expansion Module is an image to print with the contacts already configured (that's is logically empty now).

I tried to get a guide on how to do it on the Polycom Database but the link seems to be broken:

http://supportdocs.polycom.com/PolycomService/support/global/documents/support/user/products/voice/F...

Can anybody help me or provide me a guide about how to do it?

Thanks in advance.

Hello JoseAreavoIP,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used software version as logical it may sound to yourself to state the latest software version may not be the latest in a years time when someone else looks at this post.

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP UC Software Version or the BootROM Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

In addition the FAQ contains:

Nov 4, 2011 Question: How can I setup a Busy Lamp Field / BLF with an Digium Asterisk SIP Server?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

or

Aug 06, 2013 Question: How can I use the Buddy Watch feature?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

and also

Jan 12, 2012 Question: Can I change / re-assign the appearance of  Line, BLF, Speed Dial and Presence Keys?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Dor additional questions that the FAQ or available guides cannot answer please work with your Polycom reseller.

Hi! I am having the same issue.

I have connected my expansion module to my VVX410 IP Phone. When I do, it blinks very briefly, green then red, however I can't find the EM module via the Web GUI.

This is my phone's info:

Phone Information Phone Model VVX 410 Part Number   MAC Address   IP Mode IPv4 IP Address   UC Software Version 5.5.2.8571 Updater Version 5.7.2.21547

I also attach a screen capture of my Utilities menu.

I have restarted my phone, unplugged and plugged again my VVX EM without success.

I also need to mention that it is connected using PoE+, which should be able to deliver enough power.

Thanks!

Hello betin1975,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to tell us details like what kind of Expansion module you are using. A LCD or a Paper one?

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Jan 22, 2014 Question: Which VVX Phones support the new Expansion Modules and what Software Version is required?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

The above explains that only the paper expansion module is shown in the web interface in order to print the label.

The LCD one is not shown in the Web Interface and for both units all programming is done using configuration files.

Hello betin1975,

This should work as long as you do not use Skype for Business or LYNC as explained in the FAQ.

Please open a ticket.

In order to raise a support ticket you need to work with your Polycom reseller as they need to do this for you.

If this is some sort of an Internet discounter please post either your phone's MAC address or your Polycom devices serial so I can look up who would be able to support you. This may not be who you purchased the Polycom device from.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
