I'm having an extremely difficult time getting the VVX Expansion Module to work (attached to a WORKING VVX500 & running firmware v4.1.6).  Documentation seems to be scarce and sporadic, and this is indeed the only version of firmware that works with the VVX Expansion Module.  The module powers up, and completes the diagnostics > key tests/etc just fine, but that is the only proof I can even find that the Expansion Module is detected at all as there is no link for 'EM Keys' in the Web Interface (which I've found references to online).  I can get the contacts/directory/blf/etc working on the main display, but can't seem to get anything at all on the Expansion Module.

What am I missing??

My programming (via config files) is rather simple too...

Hello TheShniz,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Our new VVX phones do not behave much different from our recent SoundPoint IP phones that supported an add on module.

Newly added contacts or BLF/Lines or Speed Dials always populate the main phone first.

The community's VoIP => FAQ <= contains this post here:

Jan 12, 2012 Question: Can I change / re-assign the appearance of  Line, BLF, Speed Dial and Presence Keys?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Above explains the flexible line key parameter that enables you to specifically determine the position of keys. Above parameter is also documented in the release notes.

The resoution you are citing says (remember from OP that we're using a VVX500):

This feature is only available on the SoundPoint IP 450, 550, 560, 650, and 670 desktop phones or Expansion Module.

Assuming it really does work on VVX............

1.) Where is the 'WebUI > Utilities > EM Directory' link referenced in EM_AG_Addendum.pdf ?

2.) Is what I need the following, correct?

<lineKey lineKey.1.category="Line" lineKey.1.index="1" lineKey.17.category="BLF" lineKey.17.index="0" lineKey.18.category="BLF" lineKey.18.index="0" lineKey.19.category="BLF" lineKey.19.index="0">

Hello TheShniz,,

I simply have not had the time to update the FAQ post since we released the UCS 4.1.6 software,

I would need to double check the mentioned addendum but would suggest in the mean time to contact Polycom support via your Polycom reseller.

Hello TheShniz,,

for the question 1, that seems to be indeed missing. Please log this with your Polycom reseller and quote 1-498812248

for question 2, yes that looks fine but I have not tested this myself.

Hello TheShniz,

Actually for question 1 I would need to know if you are using a Paperwhite expansion module or a Color expansion module as this option is only available for the Paperwhite and is use to print out a label.
