Hello,
I have question regarding to launch VVX expansion module (paper, not LCD, 2201-46300-001) with phone VVX310 - firmware 5.0.1.
Can you please advise whether it is the way how to run VVX expansion module in version 5.0.1?

it seems to me that it will work only in version 5.1.0

And another question: will need some extra license?
Alternatively, if it was necessary to wait for version 5.1.0, can you tell me supposed time estimate for its release?

Only UCS 5.1.0 and the next UCS 5.1.1 will add this functionality as explained in above post.

 

There is no separate license to use the add on module but you require a license per phone if you are using LYNC.

Don't hold your breath for 5.1.1. We have been waiting for this since March of '14. The release keeps getting pushed back it would seem.

 

Your best bet is 4.1.6 for the sidecars, or find another solution.

Hello CWebb,

UCS 5.1.0 was forecasted for the end of March and was available via support since mid May due a delay.

 

We currently certified UCS 5.1.1 with Microsoft for LYNC and will be releasing this shortly.

 

The latest UCS 4.1.7 also supports the expansion module.

Thanks for the correction, I should have stated that we are waiting for 5.1.1 for Microsoft Lync. If the OP is not using Lync, then perhaps they can contact support for 5.1.0, or use 4.1.6/4.1.7.

We have verified that our color expansion modules work correctly on 5.1.1B.
