Hi,

I am trying to update my VVX 500 using the web interface. It keeps popping up with a message saying, "Failed to fetch software from host server." I am using the default host server which is the Polycom server. It's on a network that is not behind a firewall. What can I do to fix this issue or is there another way to update my phone.

most likely the same issue as already posted => here <= and => here <=

It is therefore  always useful to include the currently used software version.

Yes I understand the VVX 500 is at software 4.1.5. I have also looked at the links that you have provided and did not see any that matched the issue I am getting.  The issue seems to be with the polycom server. Can I update using a USB flash drive like you can with a PCT. If so how can this be done.

Please ensure you always check the community FAQ and/or utilize the community search before posting any new topics or follow up post’s.

 

There is no way to upgrade the VVX via a USB stick and based on the error message a Firewall or something else in the network must be blocking your access to that server. A wireshark trace would tell you.
