Hi Steffen,

We have some users on VVX (various models) running 5.1.2, with multiple registrations/line keys reporting that their phones default to the secondary line/registration when picking up the handset, instead of line key 1/primary registration.

I was able to replicate this on 5.1.3. I configured 3 registrations/line keys, 2 to 1 server using different users (lines 1 and 3), and the 2nd line key/registration to a different server. After making/receiving some test calls on the phone, it's defaulting to line key/registration 3 when I pickup the handset.

I thought perhaps the phone was "remembering" which line was used last, and defaulting to that, but after making/receiving more test calls through the first 2 lines, it's still defaulting to line 3 when I pickup the handset, and I can't seem to find any way to configure/change this, either through settings on the phone, provisioning config settings, or pressing/using line keys etc.

The phone has "StickyLineKeys" enabled, but it doesn't make any difference if this is on or off. I've also looked through settings related to line seize, but this seems more related to shared lines, which these are not.

I didn't notice this behaviour on the phone with 5.1.3 (or when it was running 5.2.0 or 5.1.2 previously) when it only had a single registration to each of the 2 servers, it always used line 1. Does the phone just randomly pick and stick on line key when you have multiple registrations to the same server? This seems to be the behaviour I'm observing.

Hello Squigley,

I heard a similar issue from another user but we have yet not replicated this.

I suggest you raise a case so we can track this and depending what area in the world you are in I take the case once it has been escalated to Tier 3 or work with my counterparts.

Hi Steffen,

I was wondering if you've heard of any more cases of this or if there might be an internal ticket for it now and you've been able to replicate it, or if it's expected to be fixed in firmware 5.3.0 etc.

Thanks.

Hello Squigley,

No I have not heard more of this and you would need to work with your Polycom reseller to raise this with our support team.

UC Software 5.3.0 has already been released so you could double check the release notes.

We are experiencing the same issues on 5.5.1 and 5.5.2 (latest as of May 2017).

Is there perhaps a trick to force the 1st line always for new calls?

Thank you!
