We have a customer using 22 VVX 500's with Hotdesking, those 22 phones are shared between 62 agents that rotate in and out.
Each agent has a unique phone number, and PIN to log into their phone. The trouble they are having is that the field on the phone to enter the phone number automatically sets the key entry to '123'. The password field sets itself to 'abc'. Considering they all use 4 digit PIN numbers this is a huge aggrevation for them.
Is there a way, to set that default password keyboard setting to 123 and not abc?
Thank you.

Hello Telco-T,
The software you are using is helplessly outdated and I suggest you urgently update.
In addition checking the 5.5.0 Release notes you would find:
- prov.login.userId.encodingMode
- prov.login.password.encodingMode
The above will give you this possibility with the Password mode being a standard 1,2,3 mode
I have also added this to the below FAQ:
Oct 20, 2011 Question: How can I use the User Login Feature introduced in UC Software 4.0.0?
Resolution: Please check => here <=

Hello Telco-T,
welcome back to the Polycom Community.
It would be great if you can ensure that all your old posts are followed up prior to posting new questions.
In addition it is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.
This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.
The above is also stated in the "Read First"
Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:
Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here
In regards to any potential changes to the standard:
Jan 03, 2013 Question: How can I request a change to the current Polycom SIP / UCS Software?

I am guessing that since you have not included any information pertaining to my question that there is no way to accomplish my goal?
I will look at my previous posts and 'clean' them up for you.

Great work as usual Steffen thank you.
It is discouraging to hear the phrase 'helplessly outdated"; However, we will be upgrading all phones just as soon as the interop certification process is complete with our soft switch manufacturer. Thank you for the advice.
Thanks again,
T

Hello Telco-T,
I know nothing about your background and being 3 major release generations behind aka 5.3.x, 5.4.x and 5.5.x and in addition 3 maintenance releases aka 5.2.5 makes it difficult.
The new feature was only added in 5.5.0
