VVX multiple line keys

Hello

On our VVX phones with UCS 5.3.0, we have configured Multiple Line Keys with the same registration. (CallsPerLine = 2 / LineKeys = 3)

what is the default distribution sequence ?

- all "lines" for a key first and then other key ?

   call 1 => line key 1

   call 2 => line key 1

   call 3 => line key 2

   call 4 => line key 2

   call 5 => line key 3

   call 6 => line key 3

or 1 call per key and then back to the first line key ?

   call 1 => line key 1

   call 2 => line key 2

   call 3 => line key 3

   call 4 => line key 1

   call 5 => line key 2

   call 6 => line key 3

Is it possible to choose which sequence we want ?

thanks

best regards

Re: VVX multiple line keys

Hello Kakiman,

I checked this with one of our Solution architects and they replied that we always place all keys for a line first before moving to another line.

This is how its always been done and the only option for change is to make use of the flexible line keys configuration where you define where each and every line is placed.

Re: VVX multiple line keys

Hello Kakiman,

I did follow this up again with some more details:

  • .If reg.x.linekeys is greater than 1, the next incoming call for the same registration will be presented on the next available linekey until all are used and loop back to the first one up to the call limit of reg.x.CallsPerLineKey.  Of course this assumes all calls are either active or on hold.

  • In your example, (CallsPerLineKey = 2 / LineKeys = 3), the 3rd linekey will only be used if the user intentionally selects it to place an outbound call.  With these parameters, the first 2 linekeys will typically be used due to the limit of the CallsPerLine = 2

  • In summary, your second scenario is the typical call handling behavior with CallsPerLine = 6 / LineKeys = 3.
