When my VVX 501 accepts a video call, the video from VVX 501 won't start transmitting. I have to manually turn the camera off then on (either via hardware switch on the camera or software through the video on/off softkeys). 

 

Now the other way around isn't an issue. When the VVX 501 makes a video call, the video from the VVX 501 starts transmitting no problem. 

 

Is there an option to force the video to transmit when accepting a video call?

Hello @fairuse,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

Please also include if you are using a SIP server or a LYNC / Skype for Business server.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Must Read First" and is the absolute minimum requirement every new post should include. .

In addition providing us with this basic information gives Polycom an idea what Software Versions are used in the field and avoids wasting time trying to troubleshoot issues which have already been addressed.

I'm using Asterisk, so a SIP server.

The phones are running on UC 5.6.0.17325

I suspect the issue stems from using intercom feature of FreePBX/Asterisk. 

 

Basically I enable interncom on my extensions, so internal calls within the system will auto-answer. 

 

I also had to add the following lines to the VVX cfg.

 

		voIpProt.SIP.alertInfo.18.class="autoAnswer"
		voIpProt.SIP.alertInfo.18.value="Auto Answer"

Video on the receipiant only transmit when they turn their video off/on (either via hardware switch on the camera or via soft botton on the phone).
