Hello,

  I am new to the forums, and I'll appreciate both forum and phone direction 🙂  (Always keep an open mind, right?)

 

  Does someone know a way to set the color (or image) of the background on the line page based on phone status?

 

  The goal would be to make the phone's status, mainly DND, more visible to the user.

 

  My company purchased Polycom VVX 400 phones.  The DND seems miniscule, and can cause problems for folks like in our call center, when they need to know whether they can take calls.

 

  I know the phone can be set up with a background image, and I know the DND status can be polled, at least through the server.  I'm not yet deep enough into the phones to know whether the phone can get its own status easier than from the server, and whether I can convert a DND status into a background color or a pointer to a picture.  I also don't know whether the "lines" page will end up being different from the "applications" page, for example.  Not that this is needed; I just like to know remifications.

welcome to the Polycom Community.

 

There is currently no such feature already built into the Phone software that I am aware off.

The community's VoIP FAQ and the Polycom End Points Forum may contain some useful ways of pushing information to the phone but would depend on the call platform's ability to do so.

 

The Microbrowser or SIP messages may be used to do so.
