Hello.

 

Communicator C100S for Skype does not work on Windows 8.1, so an updated driver is necessary,

Is there any information about the date of availability of new/updated driver for Windows 8.1 for Communicator C100S for Skype?

Hello Andy,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The C100S is not WIndows 8 or Windows 8.1 compatible and there are no other drivers.

 

There are other post's already discussing this that can be found via the community search => here <=

 

To my knowledge there are no plans to provide such drivers.

I  would  think you could right click on the install driver program select properties,  select compatibility  tab, select compatablitly mode, select Windows 7, select apply & ok.  Then right click again on the install driver program and run as administrator and it should  install.  I have reaily seen any Windows 7  program/driver for windows 7  not work for windows 8/8.1.

DO NOT install the driver.  I was able to get my C100 to record and play audio on windows 8.1 by uninstalling the Polycom driver and just setting the device as the default audio and recording device.  The volume and mute buttons work fine, I'm not sure if the open Skype or call buttons work.
