Hi,

 

I'm trying to follow some Polycom documentation which describes using the device.cfg file in the Config folder of the UC Software zip file. This file is not there in 402 or 401 version.

 

How can I get this file?

Hello ppulham,

 

welcome to the Polycom Community.

 

I have raised this internally but in the meantime you can just browse to the Phones Web Interface,

 

Click on Utilities > Click on Phone Backup & Restore and then click on Backup.

 

The device.x Parameters will be listed there.

 

Any change to Device set via an additional file must start with device.set="1" and then actual feature, example device.prov.serverType="FTP" must be set in addition with device.prov.serverType.set="1"

Can I also bring to your attention that the filename techsupport.cfg is metnioned in the Admin Guide but does not exist in the Config directory, is there a way to get this information from the phone?

Well,

 

the Admin Guide clearly states:

 

Available by special request from Polycom Customer Support.

 

Above will only be supplied if a Polycom Service Request is raised via Polycom Support and is necessary for the troubleshooting.
