Is there a way to disable the music on hold feature on a Soundpoint IP550SIP and a SoundStation IP Polycom 6000 phone?

Hello Davesos1,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The MOH is not created by the phone, it is created by the SIP Server. You would need to contact the person looking after your SIP Server.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

I have to say...

I am not a polycom employee...

But I've been told numerous times that the above answer is WRONG.

And that it may depend on your system.

There are system holds, and there are local phone holds...

A park, or a transfer, both situations where the phone does not have the call...

that is definately generated by the SIP server.

But depending on what system you've connected your phone to...

pressing the hold key, and putting the phone on a local hold, can in some cases generate music saved as a file ON THE PHONE.

I have been looking for more info on that file, and how to change it.

Now, if I'm wrong, I apologize...

and I would love for Steffen Baier to reply and set me straight...

But this is an issue I've dealt with for years, and can't seem to beat.

Hello RedEyez,

our phones do currently not have a functionality that would play a local audio file back to a caller.

I am not at the liberty to discuss future developments.

Best Regards
