I'm trying to enable flex keys on VVX line.

I want to allow the user to skip keys.

The phones also have expansion modules. They have many of these phones w/expansion modules.

I'm wanting to populate the speed dials using config files.

I'm thinking of skipping to the line keys on the right side of the black and white module.

So far I've only succeeded in breaking the phone.

Looking for any pointers.

Thanks.

Hello knevyn,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

Before posting a new topic it would be great if you could follow up some of you older ones => here <= first.

In addition the community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Jan 12, 2012 Question: Can I change / re-assign the appearance of  Line, BLF, Speed Dial and Presence Keys?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

The above , apart from various other topics that can be found via the Community Search Function, explains in detail how to setup flexible line keys.

I still dont get this. I am newer to the Polycom product and dont get why we have to enable options through a config file in this day and age of gui administration? I have clicked on all your links on this Flex subject but they dont make sense to me. Why is there just not an option in the web gui to enable this flex line feature instead of editing a config file. I cannot seem to find where this linekey.reassignment.enabled option is in the config files of the phone. I have a vvx 500 v5.4.3

Hello MarcoVoip

In regards to your assumption that such feature should be available via the Web Interface I am unable to comment as I am not a developer .

My reply with the FAQ post, multiple community searches in addition to the admin guide should enable you to use the feature.

If you are still unable to do this please open a support ticket.

In order to raise a support ticket you need to work with your Polycom reseller as they need to do this for you. In case this is some sort of an Internet discounter please post your phone's MAC address so I can look up who would be able to support you.
