inbound ldap lookup

hello,

VVX411, firmware;

UC Software Version 5.8.0.12848
Updater Version 5.9.5.13643

I can't get my phone to do any inbound ldap lookups. We use an LDAP server, Apache I think, so not Broadsoft etc.
I've had a look through the past answers but can't find anything useful, apart from if you use lync;
I've included the config below;

<dir.corp dir.corp.address="*valid stuff*" dir.corp.password="*valid stuff*"
dir.corp.autoQuerySubmitTimeout="0" dir.corp.backGroundSync="1" dir.corp.baseDN=*valid stuff*,dc=*valid stuff*,dc=co,dc=uk" dir.corp.bindOnInit="1" dir.corp.cacheSize="128" dir.corp.domain="*valid stuff*" dir.corp.filterPrefix="(objectclass=person)"
dir.corp.port="389" dir.corp.scope="sub" dir.corp.sortControl="0" dir.corp.transport="TCP"
dir.corp.user="uid="*valid stuff*",ou=auth,ou="*valid stuff*",dc=*valid stuff*,dc=co,dc=uk" dir.corp.viewPersistence="1"> <dir.corp.attribute dir.corp.attribute.1.filter="" dir.corp.attribute.1.label="LastName"
dir.corp.attribute.1.name="sn" dir.corp.attribute.1.searchable="0"
dir.corp.attribute.1.sticky="0" dir.corp.attribute.1.type="last_name" dir.corp.attribute.2.filter="" dir.corp.attribute.2.label="FirstName"
dir.corp.attribute.2.name="givenName" dir.corp.attribute.2.searchable="0"
dir.corp.attribute.2.sticky="0" dir.corp.attribute.2.type="first_name" dir.corp.attribute.3.filter="" dir.corp.attribute.3.label="Extension"
dir.corp.attribute.3.name="voipExt" dir.corp.attribute.3.searchable="0"
dir.corp.attribute.3.sticky="0" dir.corp.attribute.3.type="extension" dir.corp.attribute.4.filter="" dir.corp.attribute.4.label="Number"
dir.corp.attribute.4.name="telephoneNumber"
dir.corp.attribute.4.searchable="0" dir.corp.attribute.4.sticky="0"
dir.corp.attribute.4.type="phone_number"> </dir.corp.attribute> <dir.corp.auth dir.corp.auth.useLoginCredentials="0"></dir.corp.auth> <dir.corp.backGroundSync dir.corp.backGroundSync.period="86400"></dir.corp.backGroundSync> <dir.corp.vlv dir.corp.vlv.allow="0" dir.corp.vlv.sortOrder="sn givenName telephoneNumber"> </dir.corp.vlv> </dir.corp>

Hello @joethejones ,

Welcome back to the Poly Community.

Please ensure you always check the FAQ's and/or utilize the community search before posting any new topics or follow up posts.

Jul 07, 2015 Question:Does a Polycom VVX Business Media Phone support Reverse Name Lookup (RNL)?

Resolution: VVX UC Software 5.8.0 added this feature for Skype for Business. The Factory default uses Outlook,SIP,ABS,Local in this order. UC Software 6.1.0 added this feature for compatible phones using LDAP, Personal Directory, SIP, PAB and GAB (if applicable)

Re: inbound ldap lookup

Thanks for your response, I have now upgraded to 6.2.0 and have not managed to bring back the record on inbound lookup.

I've run a wireshark and can see the phone requesting data from the ldap server, and the correct record is sent back to the phone, but is not showing up on the phone.

Might there be a reason for this?

Re: inbound ldap lookup

Hello @joethejones

not having seen a backup of the device or logs I cannot comment. Providing free support is outside the scope for me within the Poly community.

In the past Mac addresses provided in other posts show that Siphone is your service provider. Other volunteers can try and help you as well.

In order to raise a support ticket, you need to work with your Poly reseller as they may need to do this for you.

End Customers are usually unable to open a ticket directly with Poly support. Available End User Poly services offerings are detailed here

If this is some sort of an Internet discounter providing your MAC address or your Poly devices serial will enable us to look up who would be able to support you. This may not be who you purchased the Poly device from.

If the unit is no longer within the warranty please be prepared to Pay Per Incident / PPI. This is all outlined in detail here

I suggest you ensure up.useDirectoryNames is enabled (Factory default) and check the order for up.rnl.priority. The default value is “Local, Sip, Ldap”
