the headset turns on, and the headset flashes on phone, but you cannot hear dialtone or anything.  The only way to get it to work is to disconnect the battery on the headset, and then it works for like a day.

 

I have replaced the phone, the hookswitch cable, and the headset.

 

Any assistance at this point would be helpful.

Hello yt6661,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to provide the currently used phone software version as this may be relevant to the answer that can be provided.

 

As long as you follow the advise given => here <= and utilize all the correct cabling for the phone there are no issues that I could think of from the Polycom phone end.

 

There could be issues if there are to many DECT devices in your environment but that would obviously something you would probably need to inquire help from Plantronics.
