license to allow 6-way ad-hoc conference call hosted in network conf. server

Hello:

Is a license required to do n-way ad hoc conf calls hosted by the network's conf. server? I'd like to go up to 6 persons on the conf. call. I thought I read a while back that a free license is avaiilable for download.

I'm using Soundpoint IP 330 phones.

3-way call is working now, but can't add the 4th ...

Please advise,

- Greg

After all was said and done, I retested and was able to do a 6-way ad hoc conference call hosted on a network server. No license  needed.

Re: license to allow 6-way ad-hoc conference call hosted in network conf. server

Hello Greg,

are you sure you are using the voIpProt.SIP.conference.address Parameter?

Above would hold the conference on a server.

The issue you describe sounds like the standard local conference limitation of the SPIP3xx Series as described in the FAQ post here:

Oct 25, 2011 Question: What is the maximum amount of participants in a conference call?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

I never tested more than 2 external parties when using above parameter so this is something you would need to test.

When I played around with this I used Asterisk's MeetMe functionality.

Best Regards
