Not seeing the padlock indicator on vvx500 for encrypted connections when SoundPoint phones

show the padlock when connected to the same destination with both secure-sip and srtp secured.

Are the vvx500's supposed to display the padlock indicator?

Hello @polykc,

The reason you could not find anythin relating to a padlock issue is simply as there is no issue.

The Icon is there:

Any change or any other issue needs to be opened as a service ticket.

End Customers are unable to open a ticket directly with Polycom support.

If this is some sort of an Internet discounter please post either your phone's MAC address or your Polycom devices serial so I can look up who would be able to support you. This may not be who you purchased the Polycom device from.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Hello @polykc,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

Please also include if you are using a SIP server or a LYNC / Skype for Business server.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Must Read First" and is the absolute minimum requirement every new post should include. .

In addition providing us with this basic information gives Polycom an idea what Software Versions are used in the field and avoids wasting time trying to troubleshoot issues which have already been addressed.

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

In addition it does also contain this post here with steps to troubleshoot

Apr 23, 2013 Question: How can I setup SRTP / Secure RTP?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Maybe I'm not clear what my issue is.

I want the indicator next to the Line in use to show the padlock symbol if/when the connection

has encryption enabled for sip and rtp, the way it does on the Soundpoint phone.

I see your picture and it does not appear to make the padlock symbol either. If the padlock does

not appear on the VVX500/VVX600 phones for calls secured this way, then so be it.

BTW, I could find any mention of the 'padlock' symbol on VVX phones anywhere I looked, that is

why I put this post on the forum.

In the picture you included, is there an indication of a secure-type connection?

Many thanks,

-kim

My queston is: Do the VVXxxx phones generate a 'padlock' symbol when the connection is secured or

do these phones not generate the 'padlock' symbol the way the Soundpoint series phones do.

I don't have an 'issue' I am asking to be solved here by anyone, I asked if the 'padlock' is

present under any circumstances on the VVXxxx phones.

BTW I am not some sort of internet discounter.

Thanks for answering my question Steffan.

Hello @polykc,

both pictures provided show the padlock. I am unsure of what else you are asking.

The VVX works the same as the SPIP or SSIP.

Anything else as outlined needs to be opened as a service ticket. If the phone is out of warranty PPI / Pay Per Incident is required.
