Hello,

I have around 10 of these models of Polycome conference phones and am looking to activate this facility. At the moment when creaing a conference call (Based on 3 people). Calling the first person the call goes throguh fine but when pressing the conference button on the phone and trying to call the third person in, the second person is automatically put on hold (I dont want this to happen). This facility is available as I have seen it mentioned in the user manual between pages 59 - 65. When this is activated the second person does not get put on hold and subsequently you do not have to press the conference button again to un-hold them onece the thrid person is available.

Please can someone help.

Thank you.

Hello jamesliberum,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Both the quick user guide => here <= and the official UC Softwar 4.0.1 guide => here <= mention:

  • Press ICON or the Confrnc soft key to create a new call. The active call is held.

What Guide are you referring to ?

Hello Steffen,

Thank you for your response.

In the official UC Softwar 4.0.1 guide it brings up on page 55:

If configured for single key-press conferences, you do not have to press the

Conference key or the Confrnc soft key again.

I was wondering whether there was any details on how to activate this at all?

Thank you and I look forward to your response.

Regards,

James.

Hello James,

In all my years with Polycom I had never used this parameter before.

As stated in the UC Software 4.0.1 Admin guide page 405 for call.singleKeyPressConference:

  • If set to 1, the conference will be setup after a user presses the Conference soft key or Conference key the first time.
Also, all sound effects (dial tone, DTMF tone while dialing and ringing back) are heard by all existing participants in the conference.

I have attached a File that you can simply import once unzipped that will enable the feature.

Thank for for advise!

We've set it up (on some VVX phones running 5.3 or older UC)  but it turns out if the 3rd party doesn't answer and call goes to voicemail (or terminated to busy), the other 2 parties would have to listen to it. Could there be a workaround here, perhaps with 5.4 or 5.5 software releases?

Thank you!

Steffen, "No" means with this single key-press conference tweak the rest 2 parties must listen with whatever happens while reaching the 3rd, and if there's an error - would have to disconnect with each other too?

Thank you!
