I work for a company that a few months ago purchased a Digium Switchvox server and large number of Polycom 335 and IP6000 phones. Originally the Sr. Network Engineer had seperate vlans for user workstations and a vlan for voice. The IP6000 originally profiled and worked fine. Well we discovered polycom does not support split vlans. So the boss merged the vlans. The Polycom 335s have picked up the change after re-profiling the phones but we have been unable to get the IP6000's to talk to the boot server. The IP address is in the right vlan. The Switchvox server sees the phones for profiling, the network sees the phones and shows data traffic. But the IP6000 simply will not communicate with the server (getting the hollow phone icon).
When the phone can not talk to the boot server it loads its old config. We can not get rid of the old settings either. We have tried going into the admin and resetting local config and device settings to default. We also did a factory reset holding down the *, 8 &6 keys yet an old profile still shows up.
At this point I am not sure where to go next to fix this so tossing it out there to this forum in hopes someone can help.

I would suggest a Wireshark capture to see if the DHCP Server offers the Phone a different IP Address for the Server.

I have resolved this issue. In the bootrom the "Option 60 Format" was set to RFC3925 Binary. Switching this to ASCII String corrected the server communication issue.
Well we discovered polycom does not support split vlans. So the boss merged the vlans.
By the way, Polycom phones DO support "split vlans" using the 802.1Q standard.
Excerpt from the UCS Admin Guide...
IEEE 802.1p/Q—The phone will tag all Ethernet packets it transmits
with an 802.1Q VLAN header.
This can be configured using the phone's configuration, via DHCP, or via CDP/LLDP.
