I have set user_preferences up.useDirectoryNames="1" and I can see that it is set via the web interface. It also correctly the caller id for outgoing calls, just not incoming...

I see the entriy in the directory and the "Contact" field matches the number exactly but if I call from a number in the directory (i.e. ext 101 or 14161234567), it doesn't use the directory name for caller id.

I'm on the latest firmware (4.0.4.2906). Any thoughts on what might be the issue?

Hello jptl,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The feature up.useDirectoryNames is automatically activated since UCS 4.0.0 and does not require a separate activation. It will only ever identify incoming calls.

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Jan 6, 2012 Question: How can I create a local directory or what is the 000000000000-directory.xml used for?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

I have added a troubleshooting section to the above post that you can utilize your findings. If this is still not working for yourself please follow this up with your Polycom reseller and/or Polycom support directly.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
