Polycom releases on a regular Basis Feature Releases or Maintenance Releases of their PVOS, UC, or Obi Edition Software Versions.

EDIT: Aug 2022 Software 8.0.0 introduced the new PVOS software for Poly Edge E, CCX and Poly Trio C60 phones

Important Differences between SIP 3.2.5 or previous to UCS 3.3.x or 4.0.0:

NOTE:

Prior to UC Software, the Phone always needed to load a sip.cfg and a phone1.cfg matching the SIP Release that was currently installed on the Phone via the 000000000000.cfg or <mac>.cfg.

Example:

Parameters like the Corporate Directory for example need to be activated in addition to a Productivity Suite license depending on the Phone Model and/or Software Version.

The activation in UCS 3.3.0 or newer works via:

< feature feature.corporateDirectory.enabled="1/>

The activation in SIP 3.2.x or previous works via:

<feature feature.19.name="corporate-directory" feature.19.enabled="1"/>

Above is a common mistake to be made when configuring phones.

Another Example is KEY Programming

UCS 3.3.x and later:

<button><key key.SPIP335.34.function.prim="Null"/></button>

SIP 3.2.5 or earlier:

<button><key key.IP_330.34.function.prim="Null"/></button>
