Hello,
We have Polycom Trio 8800 IP phone and it only works as audio device in Skype for Business client connected to the PC via USB. For some reason it does not visible to Skype for Business using LAN connection with BToE plugin installed on the PC. Therefore we cannot connect PC to the LAN using this device as a two ports switch. Please inform us if there is a way to connect Polycom Trio 8800 to SfB client by LAN or no?
Thank you in advance!
Hello @nevd ,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
Both the community's Must Read First and the community's FAQ reference the basic minimum information a new or follow up post should contain.
This ensures the questions having to be asked are limited and any new or follow up post contains the right amount of details to ensure any voluntary participant within the community does not spend additional time chasing basic information.
As a reminder the basic information asked for:
UC Software 4.0.0 or later via the Web Interface Utilities > Phone Backup & Restore > Phone Backup > Phone Backup. Please rename into .TXT or Zip the file to attach.
Since UC Software 5.9.0 simply provide this via the Web Interface Diagnostics > Download Support Information Package
Whilst providing some of these details may not directly impact any possible answer the community can provide, it does enable Polycom to have an overview of the current software used. In addition providing all details at the same time allow us to check logs or look up a potential support partners if an issue needs to come into support. It also enables us to verify the entitlement for using features.
Please ensure you always check the FAQ's and/or utilize the community search before posting any new topics or follow up post’s.
BToE is an application aimed at the ease of use to sign in and out on a normal desk phone. The use case of a Trio is usually to be a conference phone so BToE is at present not supported on the Trio as this is not the usual use case.
You can use the Polycom Content App to share a local PC Screen with a Trio which has a Visual+ or VisualPro connected.
If you believe we should add this feature please work with a Polycom reseller or Polycom Sales Engineer to raise this as a feature request.
Jan 03, 2013 Question: How can I request a change aka feature request to the current Polycom SIP / UC Software?

Hi Steffen,
Thank you very much for a prompt reply and sorry for not carefull reading of FAQ and forum rules!
The answer is already almost enough for us however I'd like to ask some additional question.
Our infrastructure is SfB 2015 on premise. We asked about BToE integration in order to understand how to connect this device to PC (as audio device in SfB client) using LAN only and not USB connection. As I understand with normal Polycom phones (like VVX300/600) this function is provided by BToE integration. Please advise if it is possible to connect Trio 8800 to PC as audio device using only LAN cable.
Thank you!
Hello @nevd ,
at present this is not a scenario the Polycom Trio would support. I suggest you go the Feature Request route if you believe this is something we should consider.
