Polycom VVX 250 UC Software to OBi Edition Software

Got this phone from amazon and I need to convert it to hook it up g suite voice. Its plugged into my network. I had found this on how to do it.:

https://knowledgebase-iframe.polycom.com/kb/viewdocument.do?noCount=true&externalId=37725&sliceId=1&...

It says to Power-up the phone and have it connected to the internet. How do I know its connected to the internet. When I put in the IP in a browser nothing happens. Please help, I guess there is no customer support I can call and I'm sure this is simple once I'm told how. thx

Re: Polycom VVX 250 UC Software to OBi Edition Software

Hello @Unhappy,

Welcome to the Poly Community.

Both the communities Must Read First and the FAQ reference the basic minimum information a new or follow up post should contain.

This ensures the questions having to be asked are limited and any new or follow up post contains the right amount of details to ensure any voluntary participant within the community does not spend additional time chasing basic information.

As a reminder the basic information asked for:

UC Software 4.0.0 or later via the Web Interface Utilities > Phone Backup & Restore > Phone Backup > Phone Backup. Please rename into .TXT or Zip the file to attach.
Since UC Software 5.9.0 simply provide this via the Web Interface Diagnostics > Download Support Information Package

  • If possible provide a Log and either attach them or use the Code Tag.Consult the Troubleshooting Section found within the FAQ if applicable
  • If possible provide the MAC Address or Serial of the device
  • Provide details for example if the issue is a day 1 issue or only happened after an upgrade or any other relevant details
  • For questions around Support please check here

Whilst providing some of these details may not directly impact any possible answer the community can provide, it does enable Poly to have an overview of the current software used. In addition, providing all details at the same time allow us to check logs or look up potential support partners if an issue needs to come into support. It also enables us to verify the entitlement for using features.

Please ensure you always check the FAQ's and/or utilize the community search before posting any new topics or follow up posts.

The community search >here< already find this post >here< and a search engine search reveals this post >here<

Officially we do not support the conversion and this is at your own risk and you should purchase the correct SKU/Device instead.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Steffen Baier

Re: Polycom VVX 250 UC Software to OBi Edition Software

This is the prime reason, I'm returning the phone. Crap customer service. I spent unpaid hours going over your crap site looking for an answer. I will never ever buy one of your products again.

Re: Polycom VVX 250 UC Software to OBi Edition Software

Hello @Unhappy

just a reminder that you are a guest in our community and we therefore simply reminded you of the house rules. Also, a reminder that this is the official Poly community and not a hobbyist forum for it.

In addition, we assume our volunteers do not take kindly if their unpaid work to create the community as described in your unprofessional tone.

Various already existing posts within the community outlined that the conversion is unsupported by Poly.

Working solutions have been posted and I simply shared these with you.

Simply ensure you purchase the right product the next time is the only advice I assume I can provide to you.

Best Regards
