Hi:

I've tried to find information on how to troubleshoot this issue (as stated in the subject line) and have come up empty handed. This has happened to one of our project managers before and I switched out the phones to see if it would help.  After the new phone was in place, things were going OK (meaning, no dropped calls and phone restarts).  However, I found out yesterday that a call was dropped and the phone rebooted itself.  He was on a call with a client at the time.

Can anyone provide any details as to how to start troubleshooting?  I will more than likely pass on any information that this community provides since I'm not a technical person.

As far as I know, this has only happened to this one person in our company.  No one else has mentioned it to me.

Switchvox is our PBX system.

Thanks.

TR

Hello Travelribbon,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

We have a vast FAQ section containing for example the following:

Jan 19, 2012 Question: How to troubleshoot Polycom VoIP related Issues?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

In addition it is always appreciated if the Person posting a new question includes their Software Version as advised in the FAQ.

The most common issues should be logged within the Phones Log files.

Please be advised that Polycom employed moderators like myself may advise you to contact your Polycom Reseller and/or Polycom Support may be contacted but a PPI (Pay per Incident) Fee may occur.

Best Regards

Hi Steffen:

Thank you for your response.  I did a brief check through the FAQs with my specific issue but nothing came up that was relevant.

The software version is:  8898

Thanks,

Oct 7, 2011 Question: What SIP or UC Software Version or BootROM Version is supported by my Phone?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

8898 is not a Software Version I recognise.

You will need to be able to reproduce the issue and get the relevant logs of the Phone.
